Farewell to FatMedical procedures get you thin, without surgery.

Expert Witness By Kate Nolan Dr. Roman Chubaty is founder of Aesthetic MD, a Scottsdale Clinic that offers a broad range of aesthetic treatments and procedures. Chubaty introduced “spot fat reduction” techniques, known as meso-lipotherapy, to North America after training in France and Brazil. He has trained thousands of doctors in the techniques, which employ biosalt injections to break down and remove fat. He’s also designed a patented weight loss program that he says can safely eliminate up to 60 pounds in 16 weeks, when a specific diet is combined with moderate exercise and a few minutes a week on a whole body vibration machine. Want proof? Molly Burke, Chubaty’s nurse, lost 50 pounds on the program and has kept it off for two years.
So, you believe patients can vibrate their fat away?
Do I think the vibration plates result in weight loss? There is some interesting research, but I’m the type of guy, until it’s locked down in science, I won’t be convinced. I don’t want to be known as a snake-oil salesman. No, the vibration machine is for muscle toning, as the patient loses weight. You can use it as often as you want, but a minimum
of ten minutes three times a week. This is in addition to aerobic and non-aerobic exercise.
How exactly does the weight-loss program work?
It starts with hormone injections that reduce the appetite and help you lose fat from the stomach and hips, where you want to lose it. I give patients high-potency vitamin B12 and amino acids, which burn fat. The diet has two phases. The first phase is about resisting calories. In the second phase, you stop using the hormone and learn how to reprogram your thoughts on how to eat—for life. My trade secret is giving patients enough protein. Throughout, we give them basic exercise, not intense exercise—20 minutes of aerobic and ten to 15 minutes of weight-bearing exercise three times a week.
How long does it take to get results?
We offer two programs. Twelve weeks for people who need to lose 20 to 30 pounds, and 16 weeks to lose 40 to 60 pounds. We have three years of history to fall back on, and we have a 95 percent success rate, where the patient lost the targeted amount of weight.
Who are your patients?
Everybody. Some have used other programs. For many it is a last resort before lap band or gastric bypass procedures. Ideally, it should be someone who is ready to lose weight when they start the program. They have to stay on a diet and do the exercise. As long as they can follow what we tell them to do, it will work. If not, it won’t.
